Album Description: Light in the Wind includes eight original duet compositions utilizing the 19-string lyre, low whistle, and tin / penny whistle. Writing with both string and wind instruments has been a joy as I play with the unique sounds and characteristics of each instrument; drawing them together in ways that both highlight and elevate the gifts of each instrument .
Spiritual Reflection: The Holy Spirit is often described through the images of wind, air, or breath. He is one that can be felt but, like the wind, cannot be grasped with our hand or even seen with our bodily eyes. Light too escapes our capture and yet it illumines all for our humble receptivity. Just as with the Spirit, both light and wind are impossible to make our own possessions and yet they move us, touch us, and bring to life all that in within and without. Evading our hold, we are called to a docility of faith which brings about hope, joy, and love, and draws us above the heights of our own knowing and into the knowing of the One whose love sustains us at every moment. It is my hope that these songs serve as a little vehicle for the Holy Spirit to speak of word of love to you, in whatever form that may take, and may remain a gift to you for time to come.
